மறைந்த பாராளுமன்ற உறுப்பினர் இரவிராஜ் அவர்களுக்கு அஞ்சலி

உயிர்களைப் படைத்தவனிருக்கத்தக்கதாகப் பலபேர் பறிப்பதற்குப் போராடுகிறார்கள். அந்த ரீதியில் எமது நெருக்கமான நண்பரும், தமிழரசுக் கட்சிப் பாராளுமன்ற உறுப்பினருமாகிய அண்ணன் ரவிராஜ் அவர்களும் அவரது மெய்ப்பாதுகாவலர் நண்பன் லக்ஸ்மண் அவர்களும் கொடூரமாகத் துப்பாக்கிச் சூட்டில் கொல்லப்பட்ட செய்தி அதிர்ச்சியையம், மிகுந்த மனவேதனையையும் அளிக்கிறது.

1992களில் தமிழர் விடுதலைக் கூட்டணியின் கொழும்புக்கிளை மூலம் தொடர்புபட்ட அண்ணன் ரவிராஜ் அவர்கள் மிகவும் இனிமையாகப் பேசிப் பழகுபவராயும், அனைவருக்கும் உதவிசெய்யும் மனப்பாங்கு கொண்டவராயும் விளங்கினார். 1994 பாராளுமன்றத் தேர்தலில் கொழும்பு மாவட்டத்தில் திரு. குமார் பொன்னம்பலம் அவர்களின் சுயேட்சைக் குழுவில் அண்ணன் ரவிராஜ் அவர்களுடன் திருமதி. சரோஜினி யோகேஸ்வரன் அவர்களும் நானும் த.வி.கூ. சார்பில் போட்டியிட்டோம்.

1998ல் அவரது குடும்பத்தவரது எதிர்ப்புக்கு மத்தியிலே யாழ் மாநகர முதல்வர் திருமதி சரோஜினி யோகேஸ்வரனின் கொலைக்குப் பின்னர் யாழ் மாநகர சபையின் உறுப்பினராகவும் பின்னர் உதவி முதல்வராகவும் நியமிக்கப்பட்டார். அவருடன் கூடவே நாமும் உறுப்பினராகினோம். விருந்தோம்பலில் அண்ணனுக்கு நிகர் எவரும் இல்லை. துணிந்து கருத்துக்கூறும் சுபாவம் உடைய அவர் நிறைந்த கடவுள் பக்தியுமுடையவர். யாழ் மாநகர முதல்வராக பணிபுரிந்த சமயத்தில் நேரடியாகவே பல சவால்களுக்கு மத்தியில் தனது துணிவின் காரணமாக பல குறைபாடுகளை நிவர்த்தி செய்து யாழ் நகர மக்களின் அன்புக்குப் பாத்திரமானார். 2000ம் ஆண்டுத் தேர்தலில் யாழ் மாவட்டத்தில் போட்டியிட்ட பொழுதிலும் தோல்வியடைந்த அவர், பின்னர் 2001ல் வெற்றிபெற்றார். 2003ல் நடைபெற்ற கூட்டணி மத்திய குழுக் கூட்டத்தின்பின் என் மீது சுமத்தப்பட்ட அபாண்டமான பழியை கருத்துவேறுபாடுகொண்டு எதிரணியிலிருந்த பொழுதிலும் நிவர்த்தி செய்ய அறிக்கை விடுத்து என்மீதான பழியைப் போக்க உதவியமையை இத்தருணத்தில் நான் குறிப்பிட்டுக்காட்டுவது பொருத்தமானதாயிருக்கும் என எண்ணுகிறேன்.

அண்ணனின் பிரிவால் துயருறும் அவரது குடும்பத்தவர்களுக்கும், உறவினர்கள், நண்பர்கள் மற்றும் ஆதரவாளர்கள் அனைவருக்கும் எனது ஆழ்ந்த அனுதாபத்தைத் தெரிவிப்பதுடன், அவருடன் கூடவே பிரிந்த லக்ஸ்மண் அவர்களுடைய குடும்பத்தவருக்கும் எனது ஆழ்ந்த அனுதாபங்களைத் தெரிவிக்கின்றேன். எந்த உயிரையும் கொல்லும் உரிமை எவருக்கும் யாரும் வழங்கவில்லை. இந்தப் பாதகச் செயலைப் புரிந்தவர்களை உடனடியாக கைதுசெய்து தக்க தண்டனை வழங்க அரசு உடனடி நடவடிக்கைகளை மேற்கொள்ள வேண்டும் என மனிதாபிமானத்தின் பெயரால் வேண்டுகின்றேன்.

அவரதும், அவரது பாதுகாவலரதும் ஆத்மா சாந்தியடைய எல்லாம் வல்ல இறைவனைப் பிரார்த்திக்கின்றேன்.

While the Creator of living beings just there, many are fighting to plunder the lives of the others. On that context, the news that our closest friend and the Federal Party M.P. ‘Annan’ Raviraj and his body guard, our friend Luxshman were shot dead brutally came as a shock and gave unbearable pain of mind.
‘Annan’ Raviraj, who came in contact with us in 1992s through the TULF Colombo Branch, known to be friendly, sweet in conversation and also an amiable character to deal with. He is kind enough to help and assists all concerned. During the 1994 General Elections in the Colombo District, ‘Annan’ Raviraj, Mrs. Sarojini Yogeswaran and myself, contested from the TULF tickets under Mr. Kumar Ponnambalam’s Independent Group.
In 1998, immediately after the killing of Mrs. Sarojini Yogeswaran, in spite of the objection of his family members he was appointed first as a Member and later as a Deputy Mayor of the Jaffna Municipal Council. We also became Members of the Council along with him. No one could be equalized to him in extending a cordial relationship with the others. He emphasized and expressed his views and also impressed the others. he is full of God’s worshipping. During his tenure of office, was exceptionally brave enough to rectify many shortcomings straight away as a challenge, against many an odd in the Jaffna Municipality. He created a good rapport with the people of the town. Although he lost in the 2000 General Elections, but secured a seat in the 2001 General Elections in the same District of Jaffna. After the Central Committee meeting of the TULF in the year 2003, in spite of being in the opposition rank with opinion differs, thwarted a motion brought against me, only just to put the blame on me. He even issued a statement in my favour, for me to get cleared from it. I feel, it is nothing but correct to mention it here, at this juncture.
I sympathize with ‘Annan’s family members, relations, friends and all other supporters who mourn his untimely death. Also in the same vein sympathize with the family of Luxshman who died together with him. No one has been assigned the right to kill any one else. The government should take immediate action to bring the culprits to the books and punish. I appeal in the name of humanity. I pray to the Almighty God, his and his escort’s soul to rest in peace.
